Country Strong: Toby Keith on Gay Marriage
By Kirsten Palladino
Tolerance is taught at many levels, be it parents, educators, peers, politicians, religious leaders, athletes and lately, celebrities. When intolerance is handed down to the next generation, it leads to bullying, often ending in tragedy. So its especially important when someone from country-music land comes out as pro-gay-marriage—or at least with a who cares? attitude.
Country harmony star Toby Keith (pictured) recently told CMT Insider in an interview, That whole gay issue thing, thats never bothered me. Ive never seen what that affects and [why] anybody should care—and they never do influence me. First of all, were going to stop somebody from getting a marriage license because theyre gay? You wont halt them from living together, so what have you accomplished? Wasting a lot of money here and a lot of period that could be spent productive on this deficit that were under. I never saw the reasoning behind getting in peoples personal lives.&
BY ROB SALERNO Country music celestial body Toby Keith has come out in support of homosexual marriage in the US. In an interview with Land Music Television, Keith explains, That whole gay issue thing, thats never bothered me.
But when it comes to gays in the military, Keith hemmed and hawed a bit before finally telling the world, as long as females and the gays and the soldiers are all killers and ready to fight people off get em!
Well, *phew*.
Meanwhile, Hung star Thomas Jane, fresh off a controversy where he (jokingly) threatened to quit the show (in which he plays a male prostitute with an enormous penis) if the writers ever gave him a scene where he has to suck a dick for money, explained that he used to do just that as a struggling young actor.
When I was a kid out here in LA, I was homeless. I didnt have any money and I was living in my car, Jane told the LA Times. I wasnt averse to going down to Santa Monica Blvd and letting a guy buy me a sandwich. Know what I mean?
He means he would exchange sex to homosexual dudes for food.

Ive never seen what that affects and [why] anybody should care and they never do alter me. First of all, were going to halt somebody from getting a marriage license because theyre gay? You wont cease them from living together, so what have you accomplished? Wasting a lot of money here and a lot of time that could be spent working on this deficit that were under I never saw the reasoning behind getting in peoples personal lives. Unfortunately, hes a little less clear-headed about gay serving in the military: I dont worry as much about the heterosexual people fighting as I undertake about the gays. In the military or any class in life, you have people who have problems with it, and Im wondering how thats goin The government's recent repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' the policy which barred gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military, may be a controversial issue, but outspoken entertainer Toby Keith doesn't understand why it was ever implemented in the first place. "It's just such a big issue that people make such a big stink about -- 'don't ask, don't tell,'" Toby tells CMT Insider. "That sounds enjoy our government: 'We'll adjust it by saying, 'Don't ask, don't tell.' Everybody agree, raise your hands. All right, let's leave get a snack.' That whole gay issue thing, that's never bothered me. I've never seen what that affects and [why] anybody should care -- and they never complete affect me." Toby also joint his opinion on the subject of gay marriage, saying, "First of all, we're going to cease somebody from getting a marriage license because they're gay? You won't discontinue them from living GREG IN HOLLYWOOD
