Our Mission

​The mission of the Pride Center of Western New York is to work with the group to make Western Recent York a safe, fit, and satisfying place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, gender nonconforming, and queer people to live, work, and set up their families.

Our Vision

The Self-acceptance Center envisions an LGBTQ community in which individuals feel safe, secure, and affirmed where they exist, work, worship, and engage. The Pride Center will be an integrated part of the social fabric of Western New York, nurtured by those we have served.

Pride Week: April

Pride March and Mixer
– p.m. (timing details below)

March to celebrate your identity, support your peers, and honor the history of LGBTQ+ activists who paved the way for the group today. Beginning in Knox Quad at the Progress Pride Paths, this march will be immediately followed by the Event Carnival, which includes a live DJ and performances from some of WNY's best local talent. Complete with refreshments, vendors, tabling, and activities!

(In case of rain, all events will occur in Scholar Union)

Join us to kick off Pride Week with a clip screening in Upton Hall! Free food!

 

April  Bengal Ally Mixer

pm, Trainee Union Assembly Hall and Fireside Lounge

Returning for another semester, participate us in the Fireside Lounge and Assembly Hall to commemorate LGBTQ+ students and allies! Free food! Free stuff!

 

April  Living Out Loud: LGBTQ+ Panel

Join us for an evening of courageous conversations regarding LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing.

April  Beyond Boundaries Film: Every Body ()

Every Body tells the stories of three intersex individuals who have moved from childhoods marked by shame, secrecy, and non-consensual surgeries to thriving adulthoods. Director: Julie Cohen.

PRIDE at Terminal B

A portion of proceeds from Celebration at Terminal B will support two incredible organizations including the essential healthcare programs and services that Evergreen Health provides to Western New York's LGBTQIA2S+ community as well as other community-based initiatives as well as the critically needed LGBTQIA2S+ services provided by Niagara Pride, which include educational funding opportunities for schools, youth, and adults as well as free community-based affirming supportive services in the most rural and underserved communities of WNY.
