Pride in Prog: An LGBT+ Artist Showcase

Hello all and happy pride month! This year I wanted to put together an article listing out some of the LGBT+ musicians through the progressive music scene. Its a resource that Ive found is lacking in the genre, and what better thing to do than compile a list such as this for pride month
All of the musicians and bands have links to their music or merch stores. I more than encourage you to verify out the bands, offer them a listen if you havent already, and then send some capital their way this self-acceptance month by buying their music.

When interviewed by NME magazine about his sexual orientation, he playfully responded: “I’m as same-sex attracted as a daffodil, my dear!” And even if he did not openly talk about his private life, it is well established that he spent the last of his years living with his longtime partner Jim Hutton.
Queen’s guitarist, Brian May, also stated in a interview: “I know that all through his being Fred didn’t assess that whether he was gay or not was important.”
Ryan Butcher, editor of LGBT website PinkNews, also stated: “It wasn’t just about sexuality with him; it was about his whole self and the extravagant persona he projected on stage, which is one of the main things Queen is established for.”

GFBLA provides public concerts throughout Southern California, offering a wide repertoire of music ranging from classical to contemporary.
