Taylor swift gay lyric

Some of the queerest lyrics on Lover

I’m still in the early stages of listening to the album, but wanted to complete a quick compilation of lyrics that stand out to me as particularly queer. Lots of folks have been asking me for this, so here they are, along with explanations geared toward people who don’t spend a ton of time on Kaylor tumblr for light sharing with your more skeptical friends. ;) Enjoy!

“Cruel Summer”

“Bad, bad boy, shiny toy with a price, you know that I bought it” -- refers to bearding contracts where men are literally paid to be Taylor’s widespread boyfriends, whether in coins or publicity, songwriting credits, etc. Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris are the most obvious examples of these.

“I don’t want to keep secrets just to keep you” -- What about J*e is (or ever has been) secret? She’s been dating him publicly since October of , the month after she supposedly broke up with Tom. He’s a straight white guy. No one has any objection to him except that he’s boring. If this relationship is real, what secrets, exactly, is Swift keeping?

State the obvious, I didn&#;t get my perfect fantasy
I realize you love yourself more than you could ever love me
So travel and tell your friends that I&#;m obsessive and crazy
That&#;s fine, you won&#;t mind if I say
By the way

I hate that stupid old pickup truck you never let me drive
You&#;re a redneck heartbreak who&#;s really bad at lying
So watch me strike a match on all my wasted time
As far as I&#;m concerned, you&#;re just another picture to burn

There&#;s no time for tears
I&#;m just sitting here planning my revenge
There&#;s nothing stopping me
From going out with all of your best friends
And if you come around saying sorry to me
My daddy&#;s gonna show you how sorry you&#;ll be

&#;Cause I loathing that stupid old pickup truck you never grant me drive
You&#;re a redneck heartbreak who&#;s really unpleasant at lying
So watch me strike a match on all my wasted time
As far as I&#;m concerned, you&#;re just another picture to burn

And if you&#;re missing me, you&#;d superior keep it to yourself
&#;Cause coming back around here would be bad for your health

&#;Cause I loathe that stupid old

Taylor Swift is optimal known and beloved as a storyteller, often weaving personal details, cultural references, and double entendres into her songs.

"I love to express via Easter eggs. I think the best messages are cryptic ones," she told Entertainment Weekly in She cited clothing, jewelry, and music-video sets as favored hiding spots, adding that she has been "encoding messages into the lyrics" since her debut album in

"Let me make one thing clear: I never want to promote derogatory language."

Musicians put their heart and soul into the lyrics they write, but they don't always resonate with the people who hear their words. In fact, some listeners actually seize offense to an artist's lyrics, even if they weren't intended to do any harm. And while some of the day these problematic words were unintentionally used, a musician is left to decide whether they actually want to take action to change them.

Thankfully, artists like Lizzo and Taylor Swift have chosen to make things right after learning of their lyrical indiscretions. By choosing to alter their original lyrics, they've shown that they've made an effort to learn from their past mistakes.
