Wise words from the Bible itself according to our gay friends Luis and Mario from Panama City…
Panama City is often nicknamed The Dubai of Latin America because of its immense economic growth in recent years and remarkable dense skyline. But unlike Dubai, this mighty Latin American metropolis has a far more welcoming gay life, in a country where although culturally conservative, is constantly striving for LGBTQ equality.
Most will associate Panama City with the famous canal, which is a reason alone to visit. The metropolis is also the gateway to some gorgeous tropical beaches within Panama, like San Blas and gay friendly Bocas del Toro. We stayed in Panama Capital for a week and loved it. It's full of things to accomplish, plenty of trendy bars, but most importantly, we left with a thirst to return for more. It's also
Phukets gay nightlife scene is concentrated in a tiny area of Patong recognizable as the Paradise Complex. This is a vibrant enclave of gay businesses in front of the Royal Paradise Hotel, just off Rat-U-Thit Road. As well as bars and discos, the area also features restaurants, Internet cafs, saunas and some accommodation.
The Boat Bar, a disco offering nightly cabaret shows and an outside terrace bar, is probably the most popular and well-known of the venues here. Another long-standing favourite is My Way. This stylish gay go-go also puts on a lively cabaret performance every night.
There are only a couple of gay venues in Patong to be found outside of the Paradise Complex: E-san La-prao and Maeng Cup, both tucked away down a small street at the southern end of Patong. Both are local approach gay karaoke bars and are open very belated.
