Gay bro

One night about a year ago, I went out for some beers with some of my fraternity brothers at a bar near campus. After some small talk, one of them turned to me at said, “Hey, I figured out what type of gay guy you are.”
“No, shut the fuck up,” he said. “You’re a bromo.”
“You asshole,” I said. “You can’t call gay people homos anymore. This is isn’t the 90s.”
“No, you’re a bromo,” he said. “A bro who is a homo. Get it?”
“Makes sense,” I said, and we continued about our typical Tuesday nighttime getting shit faced.
The next morning while I was nursing my hangover, I Googled the word “bromo.” As it happens, my fraternity brother was completely right. It’s even a thing on Reddit. The generally accepted definition is the same as that for a bro, except that said bro happens to enjoy dick. Go figure.
Let’s talk stereotypes and superficial qualifiers: I unified a fraternity in college. What’s more bro-y than that? Athleticism is a big part of my life. I swim at least 3, meters a week at my campus rec center, lift weights at least three times a week and rock cl

Meet the Gaybros
It’s a snowy Saturday night in Boston, and the bros are moving in pack formation. As we trudge through the fresh powder toward South End, the 10 or so guys I’m walking with jostle and joke their way forward through the frigid gas, bouncing with that particular surge of giddy drive you sometimes get when you’re hanging out with people you have never met in real life.
As members of Gaybros—a Reddit-based community for gay guys with traditionally manly interests like sports, hunting, and beer—the large majority of their bonding takes place through comment threads under topics like “Ron Swanson vs. James Bond” and “My Gay Card Has Been Revoked.” But in cities like Boston, Recent York, L.A., Toronto, and even London, they experiment to regularly “meet-up” at a local restaurant or bar, exchanging Reddit’s upvotes and downvotes for proper handshakes and side-hugs. These “IRL” encounters can, understandably, feel awkward at first, as this one did when we had all gathered for dinner earlier in the evening at a crowded Italian cafeteria. Much of the conversation revolved around ho
Being Called a Bro
When there is this guy, who you have a feeling is gay/bi, you sms him every once in a while because you find him hot, and then one of your friends has seen him on Tinder too. You kinda keep your hopes when you text him, especially when he texts back so well and holds a conversation (although its mostly about fitness, and you being a foodie). Everything seems to be going so good, and you imagine things in your head, and then he drops the Bro bomb!
I dont understand why all these linear men have started Broing each other, and one of my exes used to hate it, and now I know why. Its such a rotate off when the guy you like simply makes you a Brother because you know, you are a man!

I am guilty of Broing a few guys too if they do sniff up to me. Its enjoy a clear yet indirect way of saying, I am not into you. In fact, even gay men use it quite often Dude, Man, Bro, as if that makes you all macho. Yeah, well, it does sound a lot better than Dear, Darling, Sweetheart. But whe
