Gay bars schöneberg
Berlins gay scene is insane (in a good way) by most countries’ standards! There is something for everyone and everyone is welcome.
It’s worth pointing out that Berlin is well known for its positive and ‘matter of fact’ attitude when it comes to getting intimate so don’t be surprised to find a dim room and cruising area as accepted in most lgbtq+ bars and same-sex attracted clubs in Berlin.
We have split this post into two parts: the first half focused on the more characteristic gays bar in Berlin before moving on to the gay cruising bars in Berlin – this is probably the route your night will accept after all!
We hold a full queer guide to Berlin you should also check out.

Gay Area of Berlin
You could feasibly say the entire city, however the ‘official’ same-sex attracted area of Berlin is Schöneberg whose LGBT community dates back to the s! Of course, this is where many of the gay bars in Berlin can be found.

Tom’s Bar
The legendary and long-established gay club has reinvented itself again and again over the years and is now closed. However, a new club is set to advance in.
Tom's Bar is earth famous, because this lock in the heart of the Schöneberg neighbourhood is a permanent meeting place for gay men from all over the earth throughout the year, not just during large events such as Folsom Europe in September. Throughout the year, you can detect both Berliners and international visitors here, who are looking for a particular rough, manly atmosphere - and find it in Tom's. The bar's motto, "for successful cruising", puts it in a nutshell, and it's no exaggeration. While Tom's used to be known as a pure leather bar, today everyone is welcome – though there are still plenty of men in leather and skin outfits. Videos are played in the bar area, where there's a table football table for gamers as well, and there's also a backroom. People of all ages and from all walks of being get together here, especially when the night is getting on.

Traditional, camp bar in Berlin-
Berlin has earned its stripes as one of the great gay capitals of the world, with a huge LGBTQ+ community, one-of-a-kind queer bars and an attitude to life that encourages inhabitants to be whoever they please. Over time, this has lent itself to a ton of fantastic club nights, bars and saunas, and new venues are popping up all the time.
Berlin is a city that is always moving forward, often at a lightning pace. Things move so quickly, it can be hard to keep up with. But we’ve got you covered. Our Berlin writer Nathan Ma knows this city like the back of his hand, and has handpicked the best LGBTQ+ spots all over the city for cocktails, dancing and a lot of queer delight. Here’s our picks of the best.
